Founded in July 1982, the mission of
theTaipei National University of Arts Library is to acquire and
maintain the resources in the field of arts and humanities. Our
collections, different from other general universities, include many
rare and special classics, and items that are hard to acquire. The
most important one, 清蒙古車王府藏曲本 published by
Beijing Classics Press (北京古籍出版社), is a rare
treasure of traditional Chinese opera, considering that there are
only 15 copies in the world. Yungang Grottoes (雲岡石窟), which was published by Kyoto University in 1951, is one
of the most important work concerning the archeology research of the
historic monument. Among the over one thousand volumes of arts and
humanities books donated by China’s Hebei
Education Press in 2004, 梅蘭芳藏戲曲史料圖畫集, the
Gold Prize winner of Best Designed Book at the Leipzig International
Book Fair in 2003, is considered one of the most beautiful book in
the world . These special collections have attracted many teachers
and students from other universities.
