In order to support teaching and learning, the library’s Public Service Dept. provides the service of course reserves. Teachers can assign reference materials for students to use, and those materials will be grouped together in a designated reserved area in the library.
Principles of Course Reserves
1. Course reserves are basically assigned from the library collection. If the teacher’s list of course reserves includes an item that is not available in the library collection. The library will plan to purchase it. The time period for purchasing will be based on the publishing status of the book. A Chinese book can be arrived at the library within three to four weeks, three to four months may be needed for foreign language books purchasing. Besides, we’ll appreciate if you can provide your own collection to be displayed as course reserves.
2. Course reserves are placed in a designated area on the 4th floor and free for readers to use inside the library, but they can’t be taken out of the designated area.
(1)For library use: Each user can read for two hours in the designated area, and the reserves are not allowed to take out of the area
(2)For borrowing: You can check out the reserves from one hour before the library is closed, and must return the materials within one hour after the library opens next day.
(3) You can check the list of course reserves online or in the paper catalog.
(4) If you want to add new course reserves to the list during semester, please notify the library’s Public Service Dept.
(5) Course reserves are only available to use during semester, and will be removed from the shelves on winter and summer vacations. If you want to continue to assign the same reserves for next semester, please notify the library before the semester ends.
Please contact Public Service Dept. for further questions.
